Lent 2011

We are now in the midst of the church season of Lent. Lent is the season that is set apart for meditation upon the necessity of the Cross. Sundays are "in" Lent and not "of" Lent so they are still observed as feast days but this season still has its unique texture.

This morning we also had a baptism. Baptism at Christ Church are always performed before the beginning of the worship service so that the one baptized can join us in worship as a member of the church that morning.

Another little one joins the church through the waters of life.

The service proper, as usual, begins with the call to worship and the Processional.

Lent is the season where we are encouraged to focus on our falleness and the need of the Cross.
