On Saturday morning, Christ Church participated in a citywide volunteer effort, "Make a Difference Day." Our task was to plant oak trees at Longshore Park in Canyon Country.
We dug holes, sometimes using a jackhammer, in which we placed and staked oak trees. This is all part of the urban forestry initiative which, ironically, is seeking to create a garden city here in Santa Clarita.
A Christ-Churcher with a pole staker. It was a productive day in which oak trees, that some of our grandchildren might sit under, were planted to beautify our city.
Our men's group, Calvin on Tap, is beginning a new study utilizing Bruce Hegeman's "Plowing in Hope." Our fellas arrive to have a beefy discussion about the practical transformative effects that Christ's Resurrection and Ascension have on our labors. German beer and Latin American cigars were enjoyed by all.
