On Saturday, September 30, 2006, Saint Andrew's Community Church was represented at the 2006 River Rally. Each year, residents and community groups clean up a section of the Santa Clara River (our local river). We were there to clean up part of God's kingdom, to enjoy the morning together and to let people know that Christians believe in caring for the environment. In fact, we are charged by God to care for the garden (Genesis 2:15).

At the end of the morning the hot, sweaty folk arrived at the Newhall Community Center and were received with a free lunch including Italian Ice. It was a productive morning in the Kingdom.

Our First Church Picnic
This last Sunday we celebrated two firsts. Our first baptism and, as a result of that, our first church picnic. It was beautiful early fall Southern California day. Pictured at left are our guests of honor, the Kings, whose son was baptized.

Calvin on Tap
On the 3rd Friday of each month, the men of Saint Andrew's Community Church gather for "Calvin on Tap", the monthly men's group. We talk theology, enjoy fine malted beverages and smokeables (our Master's students drink milk and wear ventilators), and enjoy one another's company. Currently we are working through John Piper's book, Desiring God but our last wide ranging discussion encompassed such subjects as liturgy, boar hunting, and Biblical manhood.
