Baptism

We're in a season of babies being born at Christ Church. This last Sunday there was a baptism.

Children's Hunger Fund

Last night Christ Church performed volunteer work at the Children's Hunger Fund. We were briefed about our project (food for Haiti) and turned loose.

We were organized into teams and given our jobs. Tonight we were packing macaroni.

The food was weighed, packaged and sealed. Everyone pitched in, kids too!

The packages were placed in storage to later be assembled into boxed food packs that will be distributed on the ground by churches in Haiti.

It was a purposeful evening of work in the kingdom.

Easter 2013

This morning began with our annual Easter brunch, progressed to a baptism and climaxed with champagne in the Lord's Supper.

Lent 2013

The Season of Lent has arrived and with it, our perspective changes from the seasons before it.

The colors have changed and our focus is upon the cross of Christ and its necessity.

The sermon, this second Sunday of Lent, was delivered by Rev. Doug Wilson.

Advent 2012

Advent has come and gone. Advent is the season when the church reflects upon the first coming (advent) of Christ and longs for his final advent at the end of this age. This season occurs during the four Sundays that preceed Christmas.

Advent is the beginning of "proper" season that extends until Pentecost at the end of spring. The proper season is filled with special music and Bible readings keyed to the sub-seasons (Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, and Easter).

The season culminated on Christmas Eve with a traditional Service of Lessons and Carols. Join us for Epiphany!

The End of September

Fall doesn't seem to have arrived yet but September has come and gone. This last Sunday we celebrated another baptism at Christ Church.
